At some point, at least. The shelling and war had shaved the outside as would some sort of nearby tornado. Or maybe a tornado did go by. That would have sucked.

Goddamn was it hard to dodge and weave on. Sure, it's not like Mike was having problems moving forward, but when it was time to bob and move the little rocks were distinctly not helpful. It was fortuitous that Mike was on a road. Or street. Or whatever. He pondered the difference as he alternated between taking cover and moving as quickly as his legs could carry him.
The noon sun and the perspiration worked together to annoy the living hell out of his skin. This shirt was not cotton, and the now abrasive salt from the sweat was reminding him of that with every move. Bullets whizzed by left and right.
